This Year's Knitting

I've had a desire to post something other than prayers lately -- even to the point of starting another blog -- but the title of this blog is appropriate for other things; thus, I will show everyone that, yes, I do know capitalization rules.

Today, I want to tell you about what I am going to knit this year: Last year I promised Marce and Teo that I would knit them elf boots since I'd found a simple simple pattern for them. So simple that all I do is knit - no fancy stitches. They are pictured above. Marce's will be pink, and Teo's will be blue. So far, I have had some problems with sizes: I made one too small then one almost perfect; then, I switched to another kind of yarn, making the boot too small. Then I tried to make one more perfect than the almost perfect one, and it turned out too big. Therefore, after four attempts, I have one usable boot for Teo.
Then I decided that this Christmas I will give all my family hand-knit gifts. The ski hat I will make for Mom (if the Lord wills) is pictured in blue and red above. Mom's hat will not be a surprise for her because I want to make sure it's what she wants. I already showed the picture to her and asked her what colors she wanted it to be. Because he is the only person in my family who actually wears a scarf when skiing, Lonnie's gift will be a scarf. Since he doesn't read this blog it will be ok to describe it here: The scarf itself will have a Saxon braid on it (according to Knitting on the Edge), and the fringe on the ends will be mulit length loopy cords. Along the sides there will be knitted rings/circles (according to Knitting over the Edge). Because Dad reads this blog and because I do want his gift to be a surprise, I cannot even give a hint as to what Dad's gift will be.
Also, with my scrap yarn, I will knit a curtain for my room. (I have much scrap yarn the supply of which will only increase the more projects I take on.)
All of this is only if the Lord wills and gives me enough time and patience to make these. I am also doing other crafts and trying to get a life at the same time.
